In the end its not the years in your life that count, its the life in those years.

Sadly a good friend and loyal customer Mark Brehaut passed away this weekend at Manfeild raceway following a collision with another rider.

Mark Brehaut (aka ‘The Patient’) survived Emergency Brain Surgery after years of suffering from what was diagnosed as debilitating migraines. After recovering Mark took to the bike to promote the Neurological Foundation through his exploits on the race tracks of New Zealand. Mark was an incredible example of someone making the most of their second chance at life and volunteered his time and services to National and community based causes.

I first met Mark over 18 months ago when he had the vision for project Sheene and helped put this thoughts into reality. Since then we have done slight little touches to the bike and I know how much Mark was looking forward to the season. Marks vision and enthusiasm rubbed off onto the people around him and it has been the biggest pleasure having known him for the short time it has been.

My biggest condolences to Janice and family, friends and all those who knew Mark.

R34 Nissan Skyline

It was hard to put words next to this car…All I can really say is that Sambo has built one amazing ride.

Few quick facts:
• 550 hp/410 Kw
• 3M carbon wrap from the guards to roof (Bonnet/Bootlid are the real deal)
• Work wheels
• Steel wide body kit
• Sambo runs Forged Developments, a local automotive parts business

Enjoy the clip

CJC Crew

Received word that a CJC parkup was happening on Friday. It was a great chance to dust off the camera and get some footage. Again another learning curve filming at night; I had pushed the ISO levels on the 5D all the way up so was slightly disappointed with the coloring in the end. Hopefully I can work out a way around this. Enjoy:

NZV8 May 2012 Issue 84

It has been a fun month putting together some content for the guys at NZV8. This months issue (#84) has two feature cars shoot by Duncan Rourke. Garry’s 1949 flame throwing Chev custom along with Rae’s 1968 Ford Mustang. I wont give away too much as you really should go and support the Parkside team by purchasing the magazine.

1964 Ford Galaxie. Meet John Awesome.

John is like us, has a huge passion for 4 wheels. Having owned over 40 V8 powered vehicles over the last 20 years his passion might be called obsession.

18 months ago John needed a new project…to keep. He has always been a fan of the old NASCAR drag racing scene from the 60′s so he wanted to build a Galaxie that reflected this time when things were simpler. Going faster involved fitting more carbs and a bigger engine.

He did just that with a 545ci big block providing 731 foot pounds of torque at 2000rpm. Go out and check the new stands for more info on Johns amazing ride in NZV8 Feb 2011 issue 81.

2011: A year in review

With 525 948.766 minutes in a year, it seems to fly by!

A year full of up’s and downs it seems Mother nature took the headlines this year. My thoughts go out to everyone in Christchurch who was effected by the earthquakes.
This year has seen plenty of changes with the business, and even more changes still to come. In short this is what happened:

• Most successful year yet with 5 magazine covers holding the Slot Media name.
• Slot HQ has moved into CBD, Wellington
• My photography services has now gone global with images now being used in publications world wide
• Opened my first photography studio in Wellington
• II have cut my services down. No more clothing and very limited signage. Back to the roots and looking forward to having fun…again.

With 2012 around the corner I have exciting news to share

• Fresh Collaborations
• Films and videos
• Fresh Photography and event coverage

Back to the roots is the goal for 2012. Keep it real, fresh and do what I love.

Facebook

While the updates on here have been rather slim and in between our Facebook page has been attracting comments galore! Come on over and see what all the fuss is about. With over 10,000+ automotive photos from 2005-present on the Slotmedia hard drive we have been posting everything on Facebook, I mean its only fair to put them out in the open. Every working day a new image will be posted from past to present (in no order).

So what are you waiting for, jump on over here!

Port Road Drags 2011 Photos

New Zealand’s longest running street race “The Port Road Drags”.
Wellingtons only Street race.

Running for over 40 years, this annual event was not to be missed and a must for any lower north island speed fan. It was packed full of drag racing, burn outs and once again perfect sun. The conditions couldn’t have been better and there was plenty of rubber burnt on the public stretch.

Cam County, the local hot rod club that organised this event put on a great show, providing an amazing array of American and Australian muscle cars. A few Japanese import’s did make it for the parkup which included regular contender GTRPWR.

Few photo’s below, feel free to share or contact us if you wanted any printed off. Sadly no track photos this year which is a huge shame, next year thou!
